Bet you’re intrigued… yeah, you are.

I will no longer be posting here – because some THIEVING WHORE stole my domain name. Whatever, no worries, I was growing out of it anyway. So to make things easier I will be posting on http://Asha-Isabella.com. Simple. Fun. New!

Smack ya later.

The Birds Outside My Window are Rebellious

2 May

Just saying.

Hi Hi.

I am currently putting off writing this thing for this event that’s happening.  Wow, I don’t even feel like writing it in a blog post.

So I’ve finally set a date for The Boston Bazaar’s Welcome to the Dollhouse event – June 21st and I’m beginning a whole new marketing campaign.  The whole concept for the night is to create this living, breathing blog…where you can shop – a Dollhouse… a fashion Dollhouse anyway.  So we’ll have images gathered by our favorite bloggers and photographers, we’ll have a room full of bloggers – cameras ready.  They’ll be pretty little drinks and food treats.  Stores and clothing labels will be set up and selling.  We’ll be giving out free Dollhouse bags so you can shop and checking them for you so you can dance.  The photo booth will be tons of fun.  And the music! Let’s just say there’s no other Boston party doing anything close.

We have a little over a month to shape this into something really magical and something extremely awesome to spend our summer nights doing.  I mean, when I go out, especially if there is a cover I like a little more than greased up slimeballs, sticky floors and beer on my shoes.

Let’s break this story up with some photos!

So I spent Saturday afternoon with Megan doing some hair and makeup and shooting with photographer Andrew Dillon…On my roof and basement, of course.

These are going to be for some Dollhouse promo… I’m not entirely random.

Where do I go from here?

We have several video shoots coming up.  I need to find our next Dollhouse “poster girl” to do some shooting with for promo stuff.  I need the press to respond to the press releases I spent all of Friday writing and sending out.  And just really spread the word about Dollhouse.

In the words of the wise.

Lez do it…

Smack ya later,

6 Apr

I’ve decided to do a quicky post because the amount of neglect I have shown this poor poor blog is saddening.  Last time we chatted I was preparing for the Isabella Louis show at Emmanuel College…that went well by the way.  And I have a ton of photos to upload and share but I just don’t have time right now.  The fashion show aftermath is always as equally time consuming as completing a collection in two weeks.

Fun News:

Casting director from Project Runway contacted me about trying out for season 9… which I strongly considered until I remembered –> “Hey Asha, you can’t really sew!”  Sure I’m fast, I’m creative, and not to burst my own bubble…pretty damn good.  But I manipulate patterns, I haven’t quite learned to sew from scratch yet.  So, this year I will be taking every class I can and practicing practicing practicing to perfect my craft.  Needless to say, I’ve been reading a ton of sewing books and I have already learned new techniques.

Apparently, there is a similar design based show coming out on NBC but for similar reasons I may have to pass on that one too.

I was interviewed by a journalist for the Northeastern paper about Dollhouse…which I am STILL working on.

I have spent the past few days gathering pricing/fabric information for this last collection and some new Isabella Louis pieces we’ll be releasing this spring. And figuring out order requirements and prices for shops.

I’ve been looking at different manufacturing outlets for the collection because, of course, I have been in contact with a few places that want to carry the line.

AND OF COURSE…there is The Boston Bazaar…I really try to stay on top of that beast but look at all of this.  So, I am trying to squeeze in some time to interview the 127 applicants that have applied!!!

I am in desperate need of an assistant…preferably one that can sew or wants to learn how to.  And one that can multitask and prioritize like a MONSTER… oh, and of course one that’s looking for a resume builder and experience in the field rather than a check every week 😉

I’m not blonde by the way.  I was in a costume shop looking for some feathers for the show when I saw miss whitey wig staring at me from the corner of the store. Had to have her! Oh, and if you happen to be wondering how I found time to take all these blondie photos…they were taken and uploaded before my time management skills were tested.

Catch ya later…hopefully soon.

Well I made some serious privacy settings so I can add all of YOU on Facebook.  I’ve been getting random friend requests and denying them because facebook is kind of private but then a couple people pointed out they followed my blog…sorry.  You can add me now.

Fashion Show Wrap Up

1 Apr

We sat front row until we were rushed backstage because our scene was coming up.  Models were running around like madmen and as we dressed them we could hear a poem being read on the runway…giving us some extra dressing time.  Once the models were completely out of their clothes from the previous scene we finally got to see our line take shape.  We added stud belts here and there, some chains, some safety pins and as the models lined up we danced like fools as our song came on.

The first model went out and we were ecstatic, the crowd was screaming and her dress looked amazing on the runway.  Lighting was spectacular.  Finally, when everyone thought we were finished we sent Liz out center stage and she did and AWESOME job.  The models walked out for the finale and Michael and I followed…planning to be super spunky and quirky but realized how intense the lighting was and settled on a couple of deuces and exited stage right!

Here are some pics!! Oh and made new awesome friends.

Oh yea, we didn’t go to the after party but had some drinks at Danny’s place.
